If you are thinking about starting your own meditation practice at home, these are all the things that you DON’T need. They are fun to have but all you really need is a quiet spot that your body seems to be drawn to. It can even be in your bed, but sitting on a firm surface is actually better for focus and neutral spine. Of all these things, I only use a firm flat pillow (not this one) to sit on, a blanket, and window (to hear the birds, wind, rain, and leaves). All the other props are decorations I brought in from the washroom just for the picture.
In my honest opinion, all you really need is enough desperation for peace-of-mind. It can take you a lot further than any of these things.
